Our Storage Facility
Location & Security
Our Euromovers Scotland storage facility is based at Purdie Worldwide’s headquarters in Blackburn, West Lothian. It’s positioned with easy access from both the M8 motorway coming from either Edinburgh or Glasgow. The facility itself is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with motion detecting surveillance covering internal and external areas and an access-controlled entry system to restrict unauthorised access. Your belongings are in a professionally managed environment, not a self-storage unit.
Clean, Dry & Container Based Storage
Your possessions are stored in dedicated shipping containers within our secure enclosed warehouses. This keeps them clean, dry and fully protected from external weather conditions, pest, and moisture throughout the storage period. Wooden container storage keeps your entire consignment together as a single unit, undisturbed and in the exact same configuration as when it was loaded. This approach also makes dispatch and delivery straightforward when the time comes.
Full Inventory Management
On our arrival at our storage facility, every item is documented against your packing inventory and logged within our secure storage management system call Move Manifest. This is a completely bespoke storage application designed solely for use with Euromovers Scotland, Purdie Worldwide and Kenneth Hayton Removals.
As such you’ll always have access to a complete record of exactly what is stored and where it is within the facility. Our team can retrieve items within the hour should need to access something during your storage period – it wouldn’t be the first time someone has left a phone or medication in a storage container!
Also, for complete piece of mind all records are held in both digital and physical form for security, audit and insurance purposes, so there is always a paper trail or digital footprint to ensure your goods are properly looked after.
How Long Can I Store My Belongings For?
Moving Into Storage & Getting Your Items Out
Moving In
We can collect your items from your Scottish home and transfer them seamlessly into storage as part of your overall international removal package, or as a standalone service if you’re handling other aspects of the move independently. Either way, your goods are treated with the same care as any international removal. That means your goods are fully wrapped, inventoried, and stored correctly from the moment they arrive at our facility.
Shipping Abroad When Ready
When you give us the instruction to ship, we retrieve your consignment from storage, complete all export documentation and shipping paperwork, and dispatch your goods via the Euromovers international network to your chosen destination. The transition from storage to shipment is managed entirely by our team, there is nothing additional for you to arrange or coordinate. We will agree a realistic dispatch date with you and keep you updated at every stage.
UK Delivery
If your plans change, which is entirely understandable in the context of an international relocation, and you would prefer your belongings are delivered to a UK address rather than shipping abroad, we can arrange that without complications. There is no judgement if your situation has changed. International moves are unpredictable, and we have seen and accommodated every variation. Simply let us know, and we will move mountains to make it work for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I access my belongings while they're in storage?
Yes, by prior arrangement. We ask for reasonable notice, typically between 24–48 hours where possible, so we can safely locate and retrieve your items from the storage container. Access is available during our normal working hours at the Blackburn, West Lothian facility. If you need to access a specific item urgently, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you as quickly as possible.
Are my belongings insured while in storage?
Yes. We offer contents insurance cover for your stored items, and we strongly recommend taking cover for the full replacement value of your consignment. Cover options and premiums will be discussed when you request your storage quote. Note that while our facility is highly secure, we always advise clients not to leave items in storage uninsured.
What items can't be stored?
We cannot store hazardous materials, flammable liquids (including fuel-filled equipment), perishable goods, plants, or animals. If you are unsure about a specific item, such as a barbecue with residual gas, or cleaning chemicals, please ask us before storage day. We are happy to advise on whether an item can be stored, and in some cases on how it should be prepared before it can be accepted. As a note, we can no longer store lithium-ion batteries.
How does storage affect my overall move cost?
Storage is priced separately from your removal and shipping costs, based on the volume of goods being stored and the duration of the storage period. Your moving adviser will provide a clear, fully itemised quote covering all elements (removal, storage, and shipping) so you can see exactly what each component costs and make an informed decision about your options.
