You take care of clothes, books, linens, bedding, and other robust, non-fragile items using packing boxes we can supply to your door. Packing these items yourself give you complete control over how your personal belongings are organised, and also reduces the time our crew need to spend at your property – which will also keep costs down! We’ll provide guidance on best-practice packing for international transit before your move day to ensure everything is packed to the standard required for shipping abroad.
We Pack the Fragile, Valuable & Specialist Items
Our trained packers handle everything that requires specialist care. Glassware, ceramics, artworks, mirrors, flat screen televisions, lamps, and any items you identify as high-value or particularly sentimental. We use export-grade materials throughout such as custom picture cartons or crates, specialist glass packs, cell-divided boxes, bubble and foam wrapping and double walled boxes in various sizes. You can be confident that the items most likely to be damaged in transit are being handled by people who pack for international shipping every day.
We Wrap & Protect All Furniture
Regardless of what you have packed yourself, every piece of furniture in your home is fully wrapped in protective export-wrap or sheeting by our crew before loading. This protects surfaces, upholstery, and structural joints during loading, the journey, and unloading at your destination. No furniture leaves your home unwrapped, regardless of the packing arrangement.
We Load, Ship & Deliver
Our highly qualified removal team manages the entire logistics chain from your Scottish property to your destination door. Can I pack some rooms myself and have you pack others?
Absolutely. Part pack is entirely flexible — there is no fixed split between what you pack and what we pack. You might choose to pack the bedrooms and study yourself while we handle the kitchen, dining room, fragile items, and all furniture wrapping. We agree the scope during your pre-move survey and everything is confirmed in writing before move day.
What if I pack something incorrectly and it gets damaged?
Items you pack yourself are generally covered under a different insurance basis to professionally packed goods. This is standard across the international removals industry. To minimise the risk, we will provide you with detailed guidance on best-practice packing techniques for international transit, and our team will inspect your packed boxes before loading to check that everything is secure and properly sealed. Any boxes that aren't packed to the required standard for international shipping will be flagged so you can repack them before they go in the container.
How do I know which boxes to use for which items?
We will provide a clear packing guide as part of your pre-move consultation, including which box sizes work best for which types of items and how to pack for international rather than domestic transit, as the standards are different, and not all domestic packing methods survive a sea voyage. Our team checks all customer-packed boxes before loading and will advise if anything needs adjusting before the container is sealed.
Do I still get help with customs documentation?
Yes. The packing arrangement has no bearing on our customs support. Regardless of whether you pack your own items or we pack everything, our team handles the preparation of your inventory, advises you on the customs paperwork required for your specific destination, and coordinates with our Euromovers partner at the other end to manage import clearance.
